Date of Event Point Cook Cricket Club : Wed Jan 8, 2020 9:46AM

Over the past few months I have contacted as many past players and other friends of our Club as possible to foreshadow a 50th anniversary event on the 29th of February 2020.

Some suggested holding the function later in the year, closer to the actual anniversary. Accordingly, Committee have decided to make 29 Feb an informal past players day, and hold the anniversary function (and launch the 51st season) on the evening of the 8th of August 2020.

I am in touch with several suitable and available venues of varying capacity and cost. I am confident that ticket prices can be set at between $55 and $75 per person (for a quality venue and 3-course sit down meal), which would cover no more than the cost of holding the event.

However, to lock in a venue (and pay a deposit), I need to gauge how many are likely to attend. I now ask for your assistance. All those interested in attending the main function, please respond to this message (preferably via the post on Facebook) as soon as possible with the number of tickets you would expect to purchase.

I have not been able to reach out successfully to some past members and associates, so please feel free to share this message with others who you think would be interested in attending.

With sufficient interest, I will book a venue and establish an official event via our Club’s Facebook page (please let me know if you don’t have access to our Facebook page via email to

I believe this is the biggest event in our Club’s history so I ask you all to embrace it. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
